A spacious contemporary  self-contained 2nd floor apartment which can sleep six , located in the centre of Llanfyllin. The Green Oak was originally built as an 18th century coaching inn and has been aesthetically restored by the owners, Judith and Michael Banks. There are magnificent views of the hills from every window.

The Green Oak has registered and been accepted under the terms required by the Green Achiever Scheme.

Llanfyllin has a long and interesting history. The ancient market town with a population of approximately 1,200 has considerable architectural variety. Part of the town’s charm is its beautiful setting in the Cain Valley, surrounded by gently rolling hills which are typical of Mid-Wales.

As guests,when you choose to holiday at The Green Oak ,you will have peace of mind that your Carbon Footprint will be offset by the recent newly planted woodland of 7000 local provenance trees at their local farm Coed Tan-y-ffordd,currently converting to organic status.With the help of a Better Woodland For Wales,we have created a perfect wildlife sanctuary retreat.

 

Coed Tan-y-ffordd is a beautiful tranquil retreat set in the Nant Fyllon valley,offering an ideal setting for our guests who wish to persue wildlife interests,artistic persuits or just to chill out and picnic amongst the glades and rides.

Judith and Michael also home rear traditional registered pedigree rare breed Tamworth and Welsh pigs and Marren chickens which you can have the privelege of purchasing from us as smoked bacon,sausages,chops joints and eggs to enhance your holiday.Organically grown seasonal vegetables will also be available from the farm.The animals can be seen free ranging which is only 3 miles out of town.A luxury hamper can be arranged in advance with produce from the farm as described above,home cooked by Judith who has run her own Bistro in the past at The Green Oak.Judith also specialises in Vegetarian and Vegan food.
